Go to your desktop and double click to open the "My Computer" icon.

Click on "Tools" on the tool bar.

Click on Folder Options.

Click on File Types tab.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on Zip

Once Zip is selected, click on the "Advanced" button.

Look at the bottom of the box that comes up. You should see 2 little check boxes. The first one says "Confirm Open after Download".

This little box should have a check mark in it. If it doesn't, click it to put in a checkmark. If it already has a checkmark, click so it goes away and then
re-click to put the checkmark back in.

Click OK>click Close>close My Computer.

The next time you download a file, you should now have the download box that comes up with the "Open", "Save" and "cancel" buttons. Choose "SAVE" and now it should pop open a box that you usually have to save files so you can choose WHERE you want the file to go.

In this box that comes up when you download a file, there is a check box for "Always ask before opening this type of file". This MUST have a checkmark in this box ...if the checkmark is not there, this is what is causing the problem you have been experiencing. So make sure this has a checkmark in it!
